Steven E. Johnson

 

Steve has over 20 years experience in assisting employers with the design, implementation and ongoing administration of their qualified retirement plans. Steve spent the last eight years as a Managing Director of the Pension Consulting Services Group of American Express Tax and Business Services. In that role he was responsible for the management of the group’s “open architecture” daily valuation administration service platform.

 

His expertise includes consulting with employers on appropriate plan selection, assuring the plan’s compliance with applicable Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor Regulations and streamlining the ongoing administration of the plan.

 

Prior to working at American Express Steve was a partner in a Chicago based CPA firm where he was responsible for creating the firm’s retirement plan consulting practice. The firm was acquired by American Express in 1995.

 

Steve obtained the designation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of Business. He is also a certified public accountant.
